Legantoo offers the user the possibility to adapt the program functions to his personal needs. Here you will learn how to proceed and what settings are available to you.
To edit the settings, press the VoiceOver + M keys to open the menu. Now navigate with the right arrow key to the main menu item „Legantoo“. Then use the arrow key to move downwards until you are on the menu item „Settings“. To select this item, press the shortcut VoiceOver + spacebar.
The settings window consists of several tabs. Between the tabs, use the arrow keys to move right and left. You can access the individual settings of each tab area with the shortcut VoiceOver + right arrow key. With VoiceOver + spacebar activate and deactivate the checkboxes and in selection lists you navigate with the arrow keys up and down. If necessary, you have to interact with tables and lists to be able to make settings. The window is completed by the OK, Cancel and Reset buttons. With OK you confirm the settings made and save them. With Cancel you leave the settings window without saving the changes. Alternatively, you can also press the Escape key. With Reset, you reset the program settings of the respective tab to their original state.
The following sections describe the individual program settings in more detail. They are grouped according to the tabs in which they are to be found.
General tab
- Always show this startup window
- Here you can choose which view Legantoo should be opened at program start.
- Re-open last opened book at startup
- If this option is activated, the book that was opened when leaving Legantoo will be opened again, switched to the book view and playback automatically resumed. Otherwise, the specified start window is displayed.
- When opening a book, leaving the library
- If this option is activated, the book view is automatically switched when a book is opened. Otherwise the focus will remain in the library.
- Use of the user interface
- Here you can choose in which language (for example German or English) the program interface and the window texts should be displayed.
Media Device tab
- Output interface to use
- In the table, specify which sound card you want to use to play your media in Legantoo. Please note that this setting is not taken into account during synchronization via the Dropbox since each system uses specific audio devices, i. E. a sound card selected here may not be available on another PC, and matching would cause playback issues.
- Opening a Book Starts Audio Play
- If this option is enabled, books will automatically play after selection in the library if audio content is present. When this option is deactivated, playback must be controlled via the audio menu.
- Play content automatically when changing a chapter
- If this option is activated, the selected chapters will automatically be played when you scroll through the chapter view if audio content is available. If this option is disabled, playback must be controlled via the Audio menu.
- Before the end of the program, indicate that the program is in progress.
- If this function is activated, Legantoo reminds you of pending or pausing playbacks when exiting the program. You can then decide whether you really want to quit the program or abort the process and resume playback.
- Number of seconds to skip forward or rewind
- The value entered or selected here is used to fast forward or rewind while playback is in progress, for example, you can change the playback position in 30-second increments.
- Keep changing volume when changing bookmarks
- If this option is activated and the volume is then adjusted in the Audio menu, this changed volume will be retained even if another book from the library is opened and it will automatically be reset at the next program start. Disabling this option uses the volume specified in the book instead. Please keep in mind that this setting also affects synchronized devices.
- Keep changed speed when changing bookmarks
- If this option is activated and the speed is then set in the audio menu, this changed speed will be maintained even if another book is opened from the library and it will automatically be reset at the next program start. Disabling this option uses the speed specified in the book instead. Please note that this setting also affects synchronized devices.
Appearance tab
- Format to display the search hits
- Set in what form the results of a chapter or text search should be displayed. This information refers to the list items that you can retrieve from the „Search > List“ menu.
- Formatting to display the bookmarks
- Set the way in which your bookmarks should be displayed. This information refers to the list items that you can access in the Bookmarks > List menu.
Import tab
- Import Type
- Select whether you want to link to the original files when importing media, or copy the files to Legantoo's media directory.
- The following directory will open to select new media first.
- Here you can specify the folder from which you want to copy the media want to import. This directory will be opened automatically when you import, but you can still change it manually.
- Suggest name for new book and start import immediately without prompting.
- Here you can choose whether you want to import media without request or if you want to have the option to change the proposed book name and then start the process yourself.
Sync tab
Here you can choose which cloud you want to sync settings, bookmarks, notes, and playback positions. In the list you can only select the services that you have set up in advance via the connection manager.
- Settings
- If this option is activated, Legantoo will synchronize all the program settings via your Dropbox.
- Playback position
- If this option is activated, the current playback position of all media played during the use of Legantoo will be synchronized via your Dropbox.
- Bookmarks
- Determine whether you want to save the created bookmarks with your Dropbox.
- Note
- Sets whether you want to sync the newly created or edited notes with your Dropbox.
Advanced tab
- Minimize to system icon
- If this option is activated, the program window will be removed from the visible area when minimized and placed in the system tray. Otherwise, the window just shrinks, but remains on the desktop.
- Help to improve the program.
- If this option is activated, Legantoo automatically collects information for operating the program. This includes e.g. how often a certain function is used or which media are preferred.
We explicitly point out that no personalized data such as user names, e-mail addresses, passwords or IP addresses are recorded.
The information is only transmitted to the Legantoo server and is used only to detect and fix bugs early and to focus more on the most popular features when making improvements.
Please disable this option if you want to protect your privacy. There will be no data sent. The setting can be changed at any time.
