Legantoo: Help

Pressing the VoiceOver + M keys takes you to the Legantoo menu bar. Here you are first on the main menu item „Apple“. This menu is always present and is not a direct part of Legantoo. Therefore, it will not be considered further below.

You can now navigate through the main menus with the right arrow key. From left to right you will find the menu items „Legantoo“, „File“, „Edit“, „View“, „Navigation“, „Audio“, „Search“, „Bookmark“, „Connection“, „Tools“ and „Help“. In the respective menu lists, you then use the arrow keys to move up and down.

Under the main menu items you will find the following entries:

Legantoo

About Legantoo: It displays information about the currently used version of the program.
Settings: Customize Legantoo to your liking and connect Legantoo to the Dropbox.
Help on the Web: Open these help pages.
Check for updates: All 30 days, Legantoo automatically searches for new program versions. You can also use this feature to start a manual search outside of this interval.
Send feedback: Contact the Legantoo team or send support requests.
Exit Legantoo: You are leaving Legantoo. Alternatively, you can also press the shortcut Command + Q.

File

Import: Add new media to your library.
Export: Select books from your library, export them as a ZIP archive, and then upload the compressed file to your cloud storage.
Book information: Here you can access extensive information about the book that is currently open.
Chapter information: You will be presented with extensive information about the chapter being played.
Notes: Here you can create notes.

Edit

New Category: In the media library, create a new category.
New Main Category: Create a new top-level category in the library and set the types of media to import.
Rename: Rename categories or books.
Move: Move categories or books into other categories.
Delete: Remove categories or books from the library. You can also use the Backspace key.
Clean Up Library: You can let Legantoo find entries in your library for which there are no physical files to remove them automatically.

View

Text display (with the sub-items „Single pages“ and „Continuous“): Select whether you want to read PDF files page by page or if all the text should be displayed in one go.
Show toolbar on top: Choose whether to show or hide the toolbar in the program window. If you uncheck this item, the toolbar will not be displayed.
Show Status Bar on bottom: Choose whether to show or hide the status bar in the program window. If you uncheck this item, no status bar will be displayed.
Show Book Name in Title Bar: Choose whether you want to see the name of the currently open book in the title bar. If you uncheck this item, no book name will be displayed.
Go to levels: Jump to the chapters in the book view.
Go to the text area: Jump to the text content in the book view.
Go to the book list: Jump to the list of books in your library.
Go to the recently opened books: Jump to the list that displays the names of the most recently played media.

Navigation

Chapters (with the sub-items „Next“, „Previous“, „First“, „Last“ and „Go to“): Navigate chapter by chapter within an open book.
Phrase (with the sub-items „Next“, „Previous“, „First“, „Last“ and „Go To“): Navigate phrase by phrase in the currently playing audio file. A phrase refers to a playback section of fixed length. Please note that this menu is only available for DAISY books.
Page (with the sub-items „Next“, „Previous“, „First“, „Last“ and „Go to“): Navigate to a specific page within an open book. Please note that this menu is only available for media containing page numbers.

Audio

Play / Pause: Repeat and pause audiobooks.
Stop: Stop playback of the current audiobook.
Volume (with the sub-items „Volume up“, „Volume down“, „Reset“ and „Sound off“): Adjust the volume of audio from audiobooks
Adjust the sound Coils (with the sub-items „Forward“, „Backward“ and „Last position“): Scroll back and forth in an audiobook or jump directly to the last saved playback position. During playback, the position is automatically recorded in the background once a minute.
Speed (with the sub-items „Faster“, „Slower“ and „Reset“): Set the speed at which you want to play audiobooks or set the playback speed to the original one Value back.

Search

In headings: Search for a chapter in the currently open book.
In the text: Search the text area for specific terms.
Next: Sets the focus of your screen reader to the next search result.
Previous: Sets the focus of your screen reader to the previous search result.
List: Show a list of search results and select if necessary one off.

Bookmark

Save: Put a new bookmark in the book that is currently being opened.
Delete: Remove one or more existing bookmarks.
Next: Skip to the next bookmark.
Previous: Skip to the previous bookmark.
List: Show a list of bookmarks created in the open book, and select one if necessary.

Connection

Manage External Services: Open the Connection Manager. With this view, you can quickly and easily unlock cloud services and log in to online stores. When services are no longer needed, the connection can be disconnected and the credentials reset.
Releasing Legantoo on the Network: Share the currently open library on your home network. Legantoo then acts as a file server. Books can be transferred from this PC to a mobile device.

Tools

Sleep Mode (with the sub-items „Off“, „30 Minutes“, „60 Minutes“, „90 Minutes“, „120 Minutes“ and „Other Time“): Turn the Sleep Mode on or off and select the time, too Run the timers and stop the audio playback.
Select another library: Start the program, then use a library from another folder or create a new (empty) library.
Open the Media Directory: Open the Library directory in the Finder.
Keyboard shortcuts: Rename, delete and re-create keyboard shortcuts.
