In this chapter, you will learn how to import media from the Dropbox into the Legantoo library, and how to export media or entire categories to the Dropbox.
There are four types of media imports in Legantoo.
How to proceed to import media:
Use the arrow keys to navigate up or down to the category in which you want to import one or more media. Open the context menu and select the menu item „Import“. Use the right arrow key to open the submenu, where you can choose between the options above. Press the ENTER key to activate the respective import type.
The folder and file window is displayed, in which you have to find the medium to be imported on the hard disk and select it by pressing the shortcut VoiceOver + spacebar on the „Open“ button.
If you have selected the menu item „Load from Dropbox“, then a window opens with the media saved in the Dropbox. Interact with this list. Then use the arrow keys up or down to select a title and press the ENTER key.
Please note that the import from the Dropbox is only possible if you have previously packed the media into a ZIP archive and these are in the Legantoo folder in the Apps directory in your Dropbox.
After selecting the desired medium, the import window opens in which you can make temporary settings that apply only to this import process. In this window, you can choose to copy the entire media file to Legantoo's media directory or just create links to the file. In addition, if Legantoo finds it, you will be offered a book name, which you can also change yourself.
To cancel without importing, press the ESCAPE key or navigate to the Stop button and press the spacebar. The import window now closes and you are back in the category list of your library.
Please note that the book name can not be changed when importing with the types „Multiple books“, „Extract from archive“ and „Load from Dropbox“.
During import, your screen reader announces the progress of the process in percentage. After a successful import, the window closes automatically and you are again in the category list in the media library, where all copied or unpacked media appear as new entries.
Legantoo also provides the ability to export media that you have imported into your library into Dropbox. You can export either a single medium or any media that is in a main or subcategory.
To do this, proceed as follows:
Select the main or subcategory or media you want to export. If you are standing on it, open the context menu and select the menu item „Export to Dropbox“.
It opens now the usual folder and file window of macOS. Here you specify the name for the file to be exported or accept the default name. Alternatively, you can select a folder on your hard drive that Legantoo uses to cache the ZIP file. After the export process, Legantoo will delete this file to avoid data remains on your hard disk. Therefore, a folder selection is only optional and not mandatory.
During the export process, the status will be announced in percent by your screen reader. When the export process finishes, the window closes and you are back in your library. You will then find the exported ZIP file in the Legantoo folder in the Dropbox. This folder is always used by Legantoo for export and can not be changed.
