Legantoo is software for the playback of unprotected DAISY- and audiobooks as well as the display of e-books and text documents.
A special feature is the possibility to synchronize the reading positions, bookmarks, notes and program settings via the Dropbox, which enables you to continue playback on another device in the same position after finishing and once you have changed the device settings do not need to reconfigure. You'll also find your notes across devices, which are also synced and available for editing anywhere.
For maximum comfort, Legantoo was not designed as a pure media player. All documents are organized in a library, with tools for categorization, grouping and filtering. The following file formats are supported:
Please note that Legantoo can only play unprotected media. Some publishers and shops have now removed the DRM protection. Instead, the purchased media are provided with a so-called watermark, which allows the right owner of the medium at any time to be able to assign media appearing on the Internet to a specific buyer. Media with a watermark can usually be played back with Legantoo.
Legantoo is available cross-platform for the operating systems Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. You can also use the Windows version as a portable program on a USB stick. You will find the corresponding packages in the download area.
In addition, Legantoo has an interface accessible to screen readers, allowing for easy operation on the Mac, iPhone and iPad with VoiceOver, on Android devices with Talkback or VoiceView and on Windows computers with the common screen readers.
